PRC together with the Professional Regulatory Board of Criminology administered the Criminologists Board Exam on November 29, 30 – December 1, 2019 in cities of Manila, Antique, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, General Santos, Iloilo, Kidapawan, Legazpi, Lucena, Occidental Mindoro, Pagadian, Palawan, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga.


UPDATE: 01/08/2020

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 19,191 out of 43,512 passed the Criminologist Licensure Examination given by the Board of Criminology in the cities of Manila, Antique, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Cotabato, Davao, General Santos, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Occidental Mindoro, Pagadian, Palawan, Pangasinan, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga last November 2019.  The results of examination with respect to eight (8) examinees were withheld pending final determination of their liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examination.

The members of the Board of Criminology who gave the licensure examination are Hon. Ramil G. Gabao, Chairman; Hon. George O. Fernandez and Hon. Ruben A. Sta. Teresa, Members.

The results were released in twenty-two (22) working days from the last day of examination.


RESULT SUMMARY


RELEASE DATE

Based on the PRC Resolution No. 2018-1127 Series of 2018, entitled “Schedule of Licensure Examination for the Year 2019”, the target release date for the result of November 2019 Criminologists Board Exam will be on January 8, 2020. However, the result may be released earlier or later without prior notice.


RATING TO PASS THE EXAMINATION

To be a registered Criminologists, the candidate must have obtained a general average of at least seventy-five percent (75%) in all subjects, with no rating below fifty percent (50%) in any of the subjects.


PRIVILEGES OF A CRIMINOLOGISTS PASSERS

All passers in criminology examination become a certified criminologist, and once they enter in government manpower, they will be exempt from taking any other entrance or qualifying government or civil service examinations and will be considered civil service eligibles to the following government positions:

  1. Dactylographer
  2. Ballistician
  3. Questioned Document Examiner
  4. Correctional Officer
  5. Law Enforcement Photographer
  6. Lie Detection Examiner
  7. Probation Officer
  8. Agents in any Law Enforcement Agency
  9. Security Officer
  10. Criminal Investigator
  11. Police Laboratory Technician

Certified criminologists shall be eligible for appointment as Patrolman in chartered cities and municipalities, provided they possess the general qualifications for appointment provided in Section nine, Republic Act Numbered Forty-eight hundred and sixty-four.
