MANILA, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and Professional Regulatory Board of Electronics Engineering will conduct the April 2018 Electronics Engineers & Electronics Technician Licensure Examination, also known as April 2018 Electronics Engineers Board Exam.
DATE & PLACE OF EXAMINATION
The aforementioned electronics engineers and electronics technician ‘ board exam will take place on April 4 – 5, & 6 2018 in selected testing centers.
DATE OF FILING OF APPLICATION
The opening of online processing will start on January 2, 2018, and the deadline for application is on March 2, 2018.

CANDIDATES FOR BOARD EXAMINATIONS
According to Republic Act No. 9292 title “The Electronics and Communications Engineering Act of the Philippines” Article III Section 14 that the candidates for board examinations must have the following qualifications:
A citizen of the Philippines or of a foreign country’ which has a law or policy on reciprocity for the practice of the electronics engineer and technician profession;
With a good moral character and had not been convicted by a court of law of a criminal offense involving moral turpitude.
For the Electronics Engineering examinations, applicant must a holder of a degree of Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering or Electronics Engineering, or subject to compliance with minimum requirements to be prescribed by the Board, such equivalent and/or related engineering course or program from any school, institute, college, or university recognized by the Government or the State where it is established, after completing a resident collegiate course equivalent to that of a full baccalaureate degree;
For the Electronics Technician examinations:
Applicant must a graduate of an Associate, Technician, Trade or Vocational course in electronics or, subject to the evaluation of the Board, such equivalent and/or related formal or non-formal course or program from any school, college, university or training institution recognized by the Government or the State where it is established, after completing a resident course or program of not less than two (2) years, or
Applaicant has completed at least the minimum third-year equivalent of a Bachelor of Science program in Electronics and Communications Engineering or Electronics Engineering program according to CHED guidelines, or, subject to the evaluation of the Board such equivalent and/or related engineering course or program from any school, institute, college or university recognized by the Government or State where it is established;
Scope of Examination for Electronics Engineers and Electronics Technicians.
The examination for Electronics Engineers shall consist of written tests which shall cover subjects prescribed by the Board but including at least the following: Mathematics, Applied Sciences, Engineering Economics, Laws and Ethics, Electronics, Communications, Computers, and Information and Communications Technology.
The examinations for Electronics Technician shall consist of written and/or practical tests covering subjects to be prescribed by the Board and shall cover subjects specific to the practice of Electronics Technicians.
As instruction given by PRC, on the day of the examination, all examinees must report to the school/building/room assignment not later than 6:30 A.M. Late examinees will not be admitted, examination fees for late examinees will also be forfeited.
Examinees are required to wear white polo shirt with collar and decent pants or slacks for man. And for women: white polo shirt with collar and decent skirts or slacks.
Also, examinees shall bring the following requirements on examination proper. The Notice of Admission (NOA), Official Receipt, Pencils No. 1 or 2/ Black ink ballpen, metered-stamped mailing envelope, long brown and plastic/transparent envelopes.
Examinees will be ground for cancellation of examination when they are non-compliance with test instructions.
Do not bring the following inside the examination rooms/premises: Books, notes, review materials, and other printed materials containing coded data/information/formula; Programmable calculators; Mobile phone, beepers, portable computers or similar gadgets/devices; Bags of any kind (ladies bag, shoulder bag, attache case, backpack, etc.); other examination aides not stated in the program.
To pass the licensure examination, a candidate for Electronics Engineer or Electronics Technician must obtain a passing rating of
seventy percent (70%) in each subject given during the examination.
