The two (2) days civil engineer examination covered the following topics: Mathematics, Surveying and Transportation Engineering (Algebra, Plane and Spherical Trigonometry, Analytics, Descriptive and Solid Geometry, Differential and Integral Calculus, Highway and Railroad surveying, Plane Topographic and Hydro-graphic Surveying, Advanced Surveying, Design and Construction of Highways and Railroads, Piers, Ports and Wharves.) Hydraulics and Geo-technical Engineering (Fluid Properties; Hydro-static Pressures; Fluid Flow; Buoyancy and Flotation, Relative equilibrium of Liquids; Hydrodynamics; Water Supply; Soil Properties, Soils Classification, Fluid Flow through Soil Mass, Stresses in Soil Mass, Soil Strength and Tests, Bearing Capacity; Compaction, Consolidation and Settlement; Lateral Earth Pressures; Slope Stability) Structural Engineering and Construction (Engineering Mechanics; Strength of Materials; Theory of Structures; Analysis and Design of Concrete; Steel; Timber Structures and Foundation with the application of the governing Code of Practice)
With a total of 2,245 out of 5,882 examinees passed the Architects board exam. It was held in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban and Zamboanga last May 2016.
De La Salle University – Manila declared as top performing school having 71 out of 88 board exam takers passed or 80.68% overall passing rate.
Luvincci Del Rosario Tan, a pride alum of Mapua Institute of Technology – Manila topped the civil Engineering board exam with garnering 93.70% rating. He was followed by Christian Espiritu Baldo from FEU – Institute of Technology (for FEU-East Asia College) with 93.25% and Rei Kevin Catantan Tungcab also from FEU, 91.70%.
