The two (2) days Midwifery examination covered the following topics: Obstetrics, Fundamental of health care, Infant care and feeding, Primary health care, and Professional growth and development.
The following are integrated with the mentioned subjects: Fundamental of Sociology, Principle of Bacteriology, General Anatomy and Physiology, General Psychology, Nutrition, Parasitology, Microbiology and Pharmacology.
With a total of 1,055 out of 2,145 examinees passed the midwives board exam. It was held in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Legazpi, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga last April 2016.
The members of the Board of Midwifery who gave the licensure examination are Dr. Alejandro R. San Pedro, Chairman; Dr. Remy B. Dequiña, Dr. Josephine H. Hipolito, Dr. Lolita I. Dicang and Ms. Rhodora L. Lopez, Members.
Camarines Sur Polytechnic College – Nabua was declared as top performing school having 59 out of 64 board exam takers passed or 92.19% overall passing rate.
Marilou Jumalon Montefalcon, a pride alum of Christ the King College – Gingoog City topped the midwife board exam with garnering 90.50% rating. She was followed by Mary Reciel Danice Sinforoso Bernarte from Bicol University – Tabaco with 90.00% and Deanna Corinne Enano Serrano from Bicol University – Legazpi, 89.60%.
