Philippine bar exam 2016 resultThe Supreme Court (SC) will release the result of November 2016 Philippine bar examination online after the special en banc session in April-May 2017. The full list of passers and top notchers or top ten (10) passers will be posted here, once the official result announced by the authority.

The said bar exam took place in University of Santo Tomas (UST) and completed on the four Sundays of November 2016 (6, 13, 20, and 27). According to Office of the Bar Confidant (OBC) that 487 of the 6,831 admitted candidates did not show up to complete the exams. 3,317 are first timer examinees and 3,514 are re-takers candidates.

COVERAGE OF EXAMINATION

The examination covered the following topics and their associated sub-topic, popularly known as the bar subjects: Political Law and Public International Law, Labor and Social Legislation, Civil Law, Taxation, Mercantile Law, Criminal Law, Remedial law and Legal and Judicial Ethics.

The 2016 Philippine Bar exams had 100% essay-type questions based on bulletin about guide and rules of conduct of bar examinations posted on SC website.

PREVIOUS BAR RESULTS

Same period of 2015 Bar exam, a total of 1,731 out of the 6,605 examinees successfully passed the Bar, with an overall passing rate of 26.21%. SC also stated that a total of 7,193 filed for exams in which 18 were denied, 29 applicants withdrew their applications and leaving a total number of 7,146 who were admitted by the Supreme Court En Banc to take the examinations.

523 examinees did not show up on the first Sunday of the bar, leaving 6,623 after the first Sunday. After the fourth Sunday of the bar, only 6,605 examinees completed the examinations.

Rachel Angeli B. Miranda grad of University of the Philippines (UP) topped the exam with garnering 87.40% rating. She was followed by Athena C. Plaza from University of San Carlos having 87.25%, Jayson C. Aguilar also from UP having 86.75%, Reginald M. Arceo and Mandy Therese Anderson from Ateneo de Manila University having 86.70% and 86.15% respective rating.
