The results in the March 2, 2014 Fire Officer Examination (FOE) and Penology Officer is posted here. Purpose of the said examination is to establish a register of eligibles from which certification and appointment to second level ranks in the Bureau of Fire Protection, Jail and Penology and other functionally related services only, except for ranks under the Philippine National Police.

The FOE covered test items on fire suppression, fire safety and prevention, fire investigation, and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) administrative matters. On the other hand, the scope of POE includes jail management concepts and applications, custodial concepts and applications, inmates’ welfare and development programs, and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) administrative matters. Both examinations have verbal, analytical, and numerical ability test questions.
With a total number of examinees, 8,640 who took the FOE while 1,311 took the POE – composed of incumbents and former employees of BFP and BJMP, as well as a number of civilian examinees. Region IX (Zamboanga Peninsula) has the most number of examinees at a total of 1,521. Other regions with a significant number of examinees are Region V (Bicol) with 1,200 examinees; Region XII (SOCSKSARGEN), 986; NCR, 809; and Caraga, 792.
Testing centers and venues include Quezon City (Quezon City High School); San Fernando City, La Union (Saint Louis College); Tuguegarao City (Cagayan National High School); City of San Fernando, Pampanga (Pampanga High School); Batangas City (Batangas National High School); Legaspi City (for FOE, Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation and for POE, Bicol University-College of Arts and Letters); Iloilo City (West Visayas State University-Education Building); Cebu City (University of Cebu-Banilad Campus); Tacloban City (Leyte Normal University); Zamboanga City (Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial High School); Cagayan de Oro City (Liceo de Cagayan University); Davao City (Magallanes Elementary School); Cotabato City (Notre Dame Village National High School); Baguio City (Baguio City National High School); and Butuan City (Agusan National High School).
The CSC said examinees should get a rating of at least 80.00 to pass the examinations.
