September 2015 SPLBE Program of the Nursing (NLE) Board Exam for OFWs Announcement

prc-logo-philippines The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces the Special Licensure Board Examination (SPLBE) in the September 2015 Nursing (NLE) Licensure Examination will be conducted on September 24 & 25, 2015 in Riyadh, Jeddah and Al-Khobar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; Doha, Qatar; and Kuwait.

The following board licensure examinations are as follows:

GENERAL INFORMATION:

This Philippine Nurse Licensure Examination consists of five (5) parts namely: Nursing Practice I Basic Foundation of Nursing and Professional Nursing Practice, Nursing Practice II Community Health Nursing and Care of the Mother and Child, Nursing Practice III Care of Clients with Physiologic and Psychosocial Alternations (Part A), Nursing Practice IV Care of Clients with Physiologic and Psychosocial Alterations (Part B) and Nursing Practice V Care of Clients with Physiologic and Psychosocial Alterations (Part C).

The tests draw basic knowledges, skills and attitudes in the major subject areas i.e., Fundamentals of Nursing including Professional Adjustments, Maternal and Child Nursing, Community Health and Communicable Disease Nursing, Nursing of Adolescents, Adults and Aged, and Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing.

The following areas of knowledge will be integrated in each of the above-named subject areas.

  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Nutrition and Diet Therapy
  • Pathophysiology
  • Parasitology & Microbiology
  • Pharmacology and Therapeutics

Nursing process serves as the framework in the nursing care of individuals, families, population groups & communities in various stages of development in health care setting. The focus of nursing care is the promotion of health, prevention of illness, curative & rehabilitative aspects of care, alleviation of suffering & when recovery is not possible, towards a peaceful death.

The examination will test competencies in relation to the eleven (11) key areas of responsibility contained in the Competency Standards of Nursing Practice in the Philippines. These key areas are categorized as follows:

  1. Safe and Quality Nursing Care
  2. Communication
  3. Collaboration & Teamwork
  4. Health Education

II. Empowering Competencies

  1. Legal Responsibilities
  2. Ethico-Moral-Spiritual Responsibilities
  3. Personal& Professional Development

III. Enabling Competencies

  1. Management of Resources & Environment
  2. Records Management

IV. Enhancing Competencies

  1. Research
  2. Quality Improvement

The program of the Nursing (NLE) Board Exam as follows: (Date, Time and Subjects)

  • September 24, 2015 (Thursday)
    • 7:00 AM – 7:45 AM – General Instruction and Filling-up Forms
    • 8:00 AM -10:00 AM – Nursing Practice I – Basic Foundation of Nursing and Professional Nursing Practice
    • 11:30 AM -1:30 PM – Nursing Practice II – Community Health Nursing and Care of the Mother and Child
    • 2:30 PM -4:30 PM – Nursing Practice III –  Care of Clients with Physiologic and Psychosocial Alterations (Part A) 
  • September 24, 2015 (Friday)
    • 8:00 AM -10:00 AM – Nursing Practice IV
    • 11:30 AM -1:30 AM – Nursing Practice V

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

Applicants for Nursing licensure exam are likewise informed on the following general instructions:

  1. Confirmed applicants will pay the examination fee of US $40.00 and PhP21.00 for documentary stamps. The Notice of Admission will be issued at the testing centers;
  2. Bring original documents for final evaluation and 4 pieces passport size pictures with nametag;
  3. Bring the following on examination day:
    1. Two or more pencils (No.1 or 2)
    2. Ballpens with BLACK ink only
    3. One piece long brown envelope
    4. One piece long transparent/plastic envelope
    5. Non-programmable calculator
  4. The following are STRICTLY PROHIBITED inside the examination premises/rooms:
    1. Books, notes, review materials and other printed materials containing coded data/information/ formula
    2. Programmable Calculators
    3. Cellular Phones, ear plugs, transmitters, portable computers, and other electronic gadgets
    4. Bags of any kind (place your documents inside the transparent/plastic envelope)
    5. Other examination aides not stated on the program shall not be brought inside the examination building.
