SPLBE Program: September 2015 Architect (ALE) Board Exam for OFWs in the Middle East

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) together with Professional Regulatory Board of Architecture will administer the Special Professional Licensure Board Examinations (SPLBE) for  September 2015 Architect (ALE) Board Exam in the Middle East for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW).

SPLBE for Registered Electrical Engineers will take place on September 24 & 25, 2015, in testing centers located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; Doha, Qatar; Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Deadline for Filing of Application is until June 17, 2015.


The two (2) days Architecture examination covered the following topics: History and Theory of Architecture, Principles of Planning, Architecture Practice (30%), Utilities Systems, Structural Conceptualization, Building Materials and Construction (30%) and Architectural Design and Site Planning (40%).

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

  1. On the second day of the examination, every candidate is required to bring to the examination room the following:
    1. architect scales (English & Metric Scales)
    2. 30 x 60 and 45-degree triangles
    3. protractors
    4. non-programmable calculators
    5. pencils, drawing pens, erasers, graphed paper and other tools for sketching purposes
    6. a copy of Rules VII and VIII of the 2004 Revised IRR of P.D. No. 1096 “1977 National Building Code of the Philippines (NBCP)” which may be downloaded for free from the Latest Publication Section of the PRBoA Website.
  2. Candidate will not be allowed to leave the examination rooms, borrow anything or communicate with one another on any subject matter. Every candidate is required to bring his/her lunch and/or supper (placed inside to a transparent/plastic bag) during the examination. The proctors/room watchers will not allow any person to give or distribute food to any examinees while the examination is in progress.


HOW TO APPLY 

  1. Applicants shall apply online via this LINK.
  2. After completing the online transaction the applicants shall submit to the Philippine Overseas Labor Offices (POLO) the printed and signed Application Form together with photocopies of documents as identified below. Deadline for submission is on Friday, June 19, 2015.

  3. The POLO will submit to PRC the list of pre-qualified applicants for the various discipline/boards at latest by Friday, June 23, 2015.

  4. Applicants shall submit the printed online application forms (signed and with thumbmark affixed) together with the following documentary requirements to the POLOs for initial evaluation/screening.


BASIC DOCUMENTS

  • Photocopy of Transcript of Records (with or without scanned picture)
  • Photocopy of Valid Passport

The originals of the above documents shall be presented to the PRC Examination Team for validation upon their arrival at their respective venue of assignment.

  • Two (2) passport size pictures with complete name tag.
  • Professional Regulatory Board (PRB) – Specific Original Documents

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Accomplished Logbook for Diversified Experience for local Experience (certified by mentor-architect) and/or Certificate of Related Work Experience for overseas experience (signed by the employer) for a minimum of 3,840 hours. The affidavit must be signed and sealed by mentor-architect. Original Logbook shall be submitted to the POLO to be forwarded to the PRB of Architecture for conditional approval.

  2. Photocopy of updated PRC ID and Certificate of Membership from UAP of mentor-architect.

 INSTRUCTIONS 

All registered examinees must bring their original documents for final evaluation and four (4) pieces passport size pictures with a name tag. Notice of Admission will be issued at the POLO/testing centers.

Also, examinees shall bring the following requirements on examination day. Two or more pencils No. 1 or 2/ Black ink ballpen, long brown and plastic/transparent envelopes and Non-programmable calculators.

Do not bring the following inside the examination rooms/premises: Books, notes, review materials, and other printed materials containing coded data/ information/formula; Programmable calculators; Mobile phone, beepers, portable computers or similar gadgets/devices; Bags of any kind (ladies bag, shoulder bag, attache case, backpack, etc.); other examination aides not stated in the program.

Candidates are not allowed to leave the examination rooms, borrow anything or communicate with one another on any subject matter. Every candidate is required to bring food (placed inside transparent/plastic bags) inside during the examination. Food of any kind carried by any person intended for the candidate during the examination is not allowed.

PASSING RATE

To be a registered architect, the candidate must have obtained an average of at least seventy-five percent (75%) in all subjects, with no rating below fifty percent (50%) in any subject.
