2015 UPCAT Results – University of the Philippines College Admission Test Results

university-philippines-upcat The University of the Philippines College Admission Test, commonly known as UPCAT results for academic year AY 2015-2016 is posted here, officially results is now released by the UP official website.

The University of the Philippines (UP) released on Monday evening, January 12, the results of entrance examinations it administered in August 2014.

UPCAT is part of the admission requirements of the University of the Philippines, administered to graduates of Philippine and foreign high schools.

According to the Office of Admissions in UP Diliman told that this year UPCAT takers this year is more than 80,000. UPCAT for 2014 was held last August 16 & 17, 2014 (Saturday and Sunday) with two batches of examinations per day in the morning and in the afternoon in 82 testing centers around the country.

A test booklet entirely produced using a Braille printer or embosser, a first in the history of UPCAT, used by examinees with visual impairment. The Office of Admissions has been conducting a Special UPCAT, administered to students with disabilities.

UPCAT Results 2015 Online for incoming freshmen of AY 2014-2015 will be available on UP website with list of surname alphabetically arranged. Usually the results released around the month of February. And only  around 12,000 students will make the cut.

The Examination

The year UPCAT is a four hours examination covers language proficiency, reading comprehension, mathematics, and science. The language used is English and Filipino.

This year, the university also returned to the exam’s old format and removed the essay that was introduced last 2012.

University Predicted Grade (UPG)

Applicants who take the UPCAT are ranked according to their University Predicted Grade (UPG). The UPG is a combined score of an applicant’s weighted UPCAT score and the weighted average of his/her grades in high school. It is 40% from his/her grades in high school and 60% from the UPCAT. The UPG is a measure of the applicant’s potential to do well in college at the University of the Philippines.

In order to make the student population of UP more representative of the country’s population, socioeconomic and geographic factors are also considered in selecting campus qualifiers.
