Complete Lists of Passers July 2014 Marine Deck Officers Board Exam (Written) Results

prc-logo-philippines PRC and Board of Marine Deck Officer released the results for July 2014 Marine Deck Officers Licensure Examination for the management level – (Master Mariner and Chief Mate) and operational level – (Officer-In-Charge of a Navigational Watch (OIC-NW).

The said examination is also known as July 2014 Marine Deck Officer Board Exam, held in Manila and Cebu City last January 5 & 6, 2014.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 50 out of 96 passed the Master Mariner Licensure Examination, 219 out of 411 passed the Chief Mate Licensure Examination and 707 out of 1,256 passed the Officer-In-Charge of a Navigational Watch Licensure Examination given by the Board for Marine Deck Officers in Manila and Cebu this July 2014. A total of 172 examinees are exempted from taking the practical examinations as they opted to submit a Certificate of Training and Certificate of Assessment in the Ship Simulator and Bridge Teamwork (SSBT).

The members of the Board for Marine Deck Officers who gave the licensure examinations are Capt. Jaime D. Aquino, Chairman; Capt. Ireneo U. Delos Santos, Capt. Romeo C. Abuyuan and Capt. Marsolito A. Cruz, Members.

The results were released after three (3) working days from the last day of examinations.

The guidelines for the issuance of Certificate of Registration and Professional Identification Cards are as follows:

  1. Registration for the issuance of Certificate of Registration and Professional Identification Cards will start on August 15, 2014. The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the said examination WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER.
  2. The deadline for submission of Certificates of Ship Simulator and Bridge Teamwork with Practical Assessment will be on July 22, 2014.

Last January 2014 examination, PRC announced that 60 out of 111 passed the Master Mariner Licensure Examination, 266 out of 510 passed the Chief Mate Licensure Examination and 726 out of 1,384 passed the Officer-In-Charge of a Navigational Watch Licensure Examination given by the Board for Marine Deck Officers in Manila and Iloilo. A total of 67 examinees are exempted from taking the practical examinations as they opted to submit a Certificate of Training and Certificate of Assessment in the Ship Simulator and Bridge Teamwork (SSBT).

The test covered the major areas of management level for Master Mariner, Chief Mate and operational level for Officer-In-Charge of a Navigational Watch (OIC-NW): Function 1 – Navigation, Function 2 – Cargo Handling and Stowage and Function 3 – Controlling the operation of the ship and care for persons on board.

PRC also announced list of top passers from different categories; Expedito Bantoto Saringan from Negros Oriental State University (CVPC) – Dumaguete garnered the highest place for Master Mariner with 86.00%, Cirleo Natabio Meñez of Aklan Polytechnic Institute with 88.00% for the Chief Mate and Robin Neil Muñoz Dave from Asian Institute of maritime Studies with score of 92.40%) top rank in OIC-NW exam.
