PRC Release February 2014 Marine Engineer Officers Board Exam Results (Written Phase)

prc-logo-philippines The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces the results of February 2014 Marine Engineer Officers (Written) Licensure Examination for the management level – (Chief and Second Marine Engineer Officers) and operational level – (Officer-In-Charge of a Engineering Watch (OIC-EW).

The said examination is also known as February 2014 Marine Engineer Officers Board Exam was held in Manila and Iloilo City on February 26 – 27, 2014.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 27 out of 45 passed the CHIEF MARINE ENGINEER OFFICERS LICENSURE EXAMINATION, 186 out of 304 passed the SECOND MARINE ENGINEER OFFICERS LICENSURE EXAMINATION and 220 out of 358 passed the OFFICER-IN-CHARGE OF AN ENGINEERING WATCH LICENSURE EXAMINATION given by the Board for Marine Engineer Officers in Manila and Iloilo last February 2014.

The members of the Board for Marine Engineer Officers are Engr. Miguel O. Marasigan, Officer-in-Charge; Engr. Victoriano A. Alojado, Engr. Ferdinand R. Pascua and Engr. Eldefonso G. Uba, Members.

The results were released after four (4) working days from the last day of examinations.

Registration for the issuance of Certificates of Registration and Professional Identification Cards will start on March 10, 2014 but not later than March 27, 2014 at the Marine Engineer Officers Division, 4th floor PRC annex building.

In addition, 470 applicants were approved for upgrading as Chief Marine Engineer Officers as per Board Res. No. 132 dated September 26, 2013, Board Res. No. 137 dated October 8, 2013, Board Res. No. 148 dated October 24, 2013, Board Res. No. 155 dated November 18, 2013, Board Res. No. 159 dated November 22, 2013, Board Res. No. 166 dated December 10, 2013, Board Res. No. 173 dated December 27, 2013, Series of 2013; Board Res. No. 02 dated January 10, 2014, Board Res. No. 08 dated January 23, 2014, Board Res. No. 11 dated February 5, 2014, Board Res. No. 15 dated February 11, 2014 and Board Res. No. 24 dated February 28, 2014, Series of 2014.

The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the said examinations WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER.

The exams covered the following topics: FI – Marine Engineering, FII – Electrical, Electronics and Control Engineering, FIII – Maintenance and Repair and FIV – Controlling the Operation of the Ship and Care for Persons on Board.

The members of the Board for Marine Engineer Officers who responsible for the examination are Engr. Miguel O. Marasigan, Officer-in-Charge; Engr. Victoriano A. Alojado, Engr. Ferdinand R. Pascua and Engr. Eldefonso G. Uba, Members.

The said board exam is expected to be released after three working day from the last day of examination.

Previous Examination:

Last September 2013 examination, only 33 out of 61 passed the Chief Marine Engineer Officers Licensure Examination, 131 out of 222 passed the Second Marine Engineer Officers Licensure Examination and 184 out of 295 passed the Officer-In-Charge of an Engineering Watch Licensure Examination given by the Board for Marine Engineer Officers in Manila and Iloilo.

In addition, 666 applicants were approved for upgrading as Chief Marine Engineer Officers as per Board Res. No. 31 dated February 25, 2013, Board Res. No. 33 dated February 28, 2013, Board Res. Nos. 46 and 47 dated March 27, 2013, Board Res. No. 54 dated April 10, 2013, Board Res. No. 65 dated April 26, 2013, Board Res. No. 68 dated May 7, 2013, Board Res. No. 77 dated May 24, 2013, Board Res. No. 82 dated June 5, 2013, Board Res. Nos. 93 and 94 dated July 4, 2013, Board Res. No. 104 dated July 22, 2013, Board Res. No. 114 dated August  12, 2013, Board Res. No. 119 dated September 2, 2013 and Board Res. No. 126 dated September 10, 2013, Series of 2013.

Christopher Buizon Lazaro graduated from Baliwag Maritime Academy lead the Chief Marine Engineer Officers board passers with 90.75% rating score. Archie Clavin Adricula from Lyceum of the Philippines University – Batangas, Inc. topped the Second Marine Engineer Officer board passer scored 90.75% and Den-Xavier Aras Hussin alumni of Zamboanga City State Polytechnic College with 88.50% rank one in Officer-In-Charge of  an Engineer Watch (OIC-EW). No school are qualified as top performing schools for the examination results. [ Source ]

February 2013 board exam, PRC released the results in about three (3) working days. Only 26 out of 43 passed the Chief Marine Engineer Officers Licensure Exam, 194 out of 332 passed the Second Marine Engineer Officer Board Exam and 318 out of 499 passed the Officer-In-Charge of an Engineering Watch (OIC-EW) Licensure Examination. 

Junrey Bantecil Sontosidad graduate from Maritime Academy of Asia & the Pacific (MAAP) leads the February 2013 Second Marine Engineer Officer Licensure Examination (Written Phase) scored 91.00%. While Michael Campolio Atos of Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP) -Manila got the highest places in the February 2013 Officer-In-Charge of an Engineering Watch (OIC-EW) Licensure Examination (Written Phase) rated 91.25%.[ Source ]
