September 2013 Marine Engineer Officers Licensure Exam Results (Written)

prc-logo-philippines The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) release the results of September 2013 Marine Engineer Officers (Written) Licensure Examination for the management level – (Chief and Second Marine Engineer Officers) and operational level – (Officer-In-Charge of a Engineering Watch (OIC-EW).

The said examination is also known as September 2013 Marine Engineer Officers Board Exam and held in Manila and Cebu City on September 14 & 15, 2013.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 33 out of 61 passed the CHIEF MARINE ENGINEER OFFICERS LICENSURE EXAMINATION, 131 out of 222 passed the SECOND MARINE ENGINEER OFFICERS LICENSURE EXAMINATION and 184 out of 295 passed the OFFICER-IN-CHARGE OF AN ENGINEERING WATCH LICENSURE EXAMINATIONgiven by the Board for Marine Engineer Officers in Manila and Cebu this September 2013.

The members of the Board for Marine Engineer Officers are Engr. Miguel O. Marasigan, Officer-in-Charge; Engr. Victoriano A. Alojado, Engr. Ferdinand R. Pascua and Engr. Eldefonso G. Uba, Members.

The results were released after four (4) working days from the last day of examinations.

Registration for the issuance of Certificates of Registration and Professional Identification Cards will be on September 24, 2013 – October 11, 2013 at the Marine Engineer Officers Division, 4th floor PRC annex building.

In addition, 666 applicants were approved for upgrading as Chief Marine Engineer Officers as per Board Res. No. 31 dated February 25, 2013, Board Res. No. 33 dated February 28, 2013, Board Res. Nos. 46 and 47 dated March 27, 2013, Board Res. No. 54 dated April 10, 2013, Board Res. No. 65 dated April 26, 2013, Board Res. No. 68 dated May 7, 2013, Board Res. No. 77 dated May 24, 2013, Board Res. No. 82 dated June 5, 2013, Board Res. Nos. 93 and 94 dated July 4, 2013, Board Res. No. 104 dated July 22, 2013, Board Res. No. 114 dated August  12, 2013, Board Res. No. 119 dated September 2, 2013 and Board Res. No. 126 dated September 10, 2013, Series of 2013.

The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the said examinations WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER.

The exams covered the following topics: FI – Marine Engineering, FII – Electrical, Electronics and Control Engineering, FIII – Maintenance and Repair and FIV – Controlling the Operation of the Ship and Care for Persons on Board.

Last February of 2013, PRC released the results in about three (3) working days. Only 26 out of 43 passed the Chief Marine Engineer Officers Licensure Exam, 194 out of 332 passed the Second Marine Engineer Officer Board Exam and 318 out of 499 passed the Officer-In-Charge of an Engineering Watch (OIC-EW) Licensure Examination. 

Junrey Bantecil Sontosidad graduate from Maritime Academy of Asia & the Pacific (MAAP) leads the February 2013 Second Marine Engineer Officer Licensure Examination (Written Phase) scored 91.00%. While Michael Campolio Atos of Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP) -Manila got the highest places in the February 2013 Officer-In-Charge of an Engineering Watch (OIC-EW) Licensure Examination (Written Phase) rated 91.25%.

In addition, 418 applicants were approved for upgrading as Chief Marine Engineer Officers as per Board Res. No. 119 dated September 25, 2012, Board Res. No. 125 dated October 11, 2012, Board Res. No. 132 dated October 24, 2012, Board Res. No. 138 dated November 9, 2012, Board Res. No. 148 dated November 23, 2012, Board Res. No. 154 dated November 29, 2012, Board Res. Nos. 163 and 165 dated December 28, 2012, Series of 2012; Board Res. No. 04 dated January 14, 2013, Board Res. No. 13 dated January 25, 2013 and Board Res. No. 21 dated February 4, 2013, Series of 2013.

The same period of last year, only 14 out of 18 passed the Chief Marine Engineer Officers Licensure Exam, 128 out of 201 passed the Second Marine Engineer Officer Board Exam and 239 out of 373 passed the Officer-In-Charge of an Engineering Watch (OIC-EW) Licensure Examination. Results was released after four (4) working days.

From Misamis Institute of Technology (MIT), Ruskin Fabria Blaseño leads the September 2012 Second Marine Engineer Officer Licensure Examination (Written Phase) scored 91.00%. While Angeles Laresma Petalio Jr., graduate of Maritime Academy of Asia & the Pacific (MAAP) got the highest places in the September 2012 Officer-In-Charge of an Engineering Watch (OIC-EW) Licensure Examination (Written Phase) rated 90.25%.

In addition, 202 applicants were approved for upgrading as Chief Marine Engineer Officers as per Board Res. No. 69 dated June 7, 2012, Board Res. No. 77 dated June 22, 2012, Board Res. No. 83 dated July 10, 2012, Board Res. No. 93 dated July 27, 2012, Board Res. No. 100 dated August 22, 2012, Board Res. No. 109 dated September 4, 2012 and Board Res. No. 112 dated September 11, 2012 Series of 2012.
