PRC Released the Program in September 2013 Registered Electrical Engineers (REE) & Registered Master Electricians (RME) Licensure Exam

prc-logo-philippines The Professional Regulatory Board of Electrical Engineering announced the program of the September 2013 Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) and Registered Master Electrician (RME) Licensure Examinations also known as Electrical Engineer and Master Electrician Board Exams.

The REE exam will be held on September 7-8, 2013 and  RME exam on September 9, 2013 in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Lucena, Legazpi and Zamboanga.

In this post, other details regarding the  board exam will be posted here ( like room assignments, list of passers, topnotchers, top performing and performance of the schools ) once officially released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) online.

Deadline of filing of application for REE licensure exam is until August 19, 2013 and for RME  board exam is until August 20, 2013.

7:00 A.M. – 7:45 A.M. – General Instructions and Filling Up Forms

8:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. – MATHEMATICS (Algebra, Trigonometry, Analytic Geometry, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, Complex Numbers and Space Vector, Probability and Statistics, Matrices and Determinants, Sequences and Series, Other Engineering Mathematics such as Differential Equations, Fourier Series, Laplace Transforms, and others). Weight score of 25%

2:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. – ENGINEERING SCIENCES AND ALLIED SUBJECTS (General Chemistry, College Physics, Engineering Materials, Engineering Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Engineering Economics and Management, Electrical Engineering Law and Code of Ethics, Contracts and Specifications, Computer Fundamentals and Programming, Philippine Electrical Code, Parts 1 & 2 and others). Weight score of 30%


8:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. – ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING PROFESSIONAL SUBJECTS (Quantities/unity/constants, Electrical Materials, Passive Circuit Elements, Active Circuits Elements, AC Impedance, Instruments and Measurements, DC Electric Circuits, Transient Response, Magnetic Circuits, AC Electric Circuits, AC Generators, DC Generators, Energy Sources, Energy Conversion, Prime Movers, Rotating Electric Machinery, Power System Components, AC Transmission, DC Transmission, Power System Interconnection, Substation Design, Power Distribution, Wiring Design for Buildings, Power Electronics, Industrial Electronics, illumination, Telecommunications, Computer Application in Electrical Power Industry and Others.

7:00 A.M. – 7:45 A.M. – General Instructions and Filling Up Forms

8:00 A.M. – 12:00 Noon – TECHNICAL SUBJECTS (Basic Electricity, RA 7920, Tools, Test Equipment, Electrical Measurements, Lighting, Wirings and Materials, Fuses, Breakers. Switches, Motors, Starters, Generators, Transformers, Operation, Working Principles, Maintenance, Transmission and Distribution Lines, Substation, Ohm’s Law and Others). Weight score of 50%

1:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. – PHILIPPINE ELECTRICAL CODE, PARTS 1 & 2 (Including: General Installation Requirements, Wiring Methods and Materials, Wiring Devices, Tools and Techniques, Wiring Ampacity, and Protection, Equipments for General Use, Special Occupancies, Special Equipment, Special Conditions, Lighting and Wiring Motor and Generator Wiring Connections, Communications and Signaling Wiring, Electrical Safety and Others.

Reminders for REE and RME

The Board of Electrical Engineering stated that the passing general average is 70% provided there is no grade below 50% in any subjects.

Also said that, an examinee who obtains a General Average Rating of 70% or above, but has a grade below 50% will be CONDITIONED, but will be allowed to re-take the next exam on the same subjects. If he  then obtains a grade on that subjects of 70% or better he shall have passed the licensure examination. However, if he obtain a grade of less than 70%, he will be CONDITIONED again and will have to retake the examination on the same subject until he shall have obtained a grade of 70% or better. 

Lastly, an examine who obtains a general average of less than 70% is considered FAILED. He will have to retake all subjects again even though he obtained a passing grade in the other subjects.

Professional Electrical Engineer (PEE)

Application for the grade of professional Electrical Engineer may be submitted by qualified Registered Electrical Engineers anytime during office hours. Please refer to the “Implementing Rules  and Regulations (IRR)” of R.A. No. 7920 for details.
